God bless America and all of you...

I want to thank you all for your caring words in the most difficult of times. You have no idea how much it means to me.
This certainly was a trying time for me. Two deaths in the family within three days. Both untimely and unexpected.

I will get back to my shop sometime in the near future. I sense that July is a slow time. I've noticed some shops are practically giving their stuff away... I've been trying to spin but have little concentration. I'm sure that will come in due time. Perhaps I'll reopen August 1. I doubt too many folks spend a lot of time on the computer in the summer months. I know I don't. Just fire up the grill and plop me on a lounge chair in the sun with a cold drink and a good book and I'll be content from dusk till dawn. I'm easy to please until the mosquitoes come out ...
Death has a way of reconnecting family and I was thrilled to see some relatives I'd not seen in years ... and some pretty crafty ones at that. I also found out I won the June spin challenge on Raverly. Whoowhee!!!! I was thrilled about that. My yarn was called "Grandma's Couch" and it was a combination of colors of my grandma's couch that we kiddies were forbidden to sit on. If my sis is reading I am talking the grandma with the blue glass tables as we know the other grandma had no forbidden furniture.
I am doing as well as can be expected and I do wish all of you a happy and safe Fourth of July weekend... Thank you for checking in and leaving your kind words...

So happy you are at home and just going to relax..It is so funny about the grandmother and the couch..my mother, God rest her soul, wouldn't let us use the living room..only special times..In our home here, I let the kids use anything they wanted, right down to the good china, crystals..Hey, I always tell them, what is of this earth, stays on this earth..If it breaks, Oh well...
Have a happy 4th, you deserve it..

Ahhh... I barely remember blue tables. But, they must have matched the "new" rug - if you remember that. She got a rug that was blue and green - very different. It was that long shag look, and it had these random green pieces of yarn sticking out of the blue. And it was hard to walk on as she thought "kids" would ruin it. I think we had to take our shoes off and tip toe on it. My other memory was the "rotary" phone when the rest of the world was using touch tone... and she swore she would never get rid of her old black rotary.

Happy 4th of July to everyone reading this blog!

In times of great sadness it is very comforting to be able to reconnect with relatives both near and far.

You'll regain your concentration and will be spinning in no time, but for now, simply relax.

I wish you & your family a happy & safe holiday.

Hi Oz! I'm happy that you were able to see your relatives, and that things seem to be going OK, despite the sad things....congrats on winning the contest!!! :( Yippie! :)...I like how the couch was named after your grandma's couch-- I just treasure those little childhood memories :)-- those random things that stick out in ones head for some reason-- like the "forbidden" couch :) Happy holiday! :D (belated :)....
